Disclaimer
Effective October 1, 2026
The recipes, articles, tips and products on Recipe Cheese are published by CHEESE LLC to help you cook well at home. We test our recipes and care about getting things right, but cooking involves heat, sharp tools and ingredients that affect people differently. Please read this Disclaimer, which forms part of our Terms of Service.
1. Recipe results vary
Every recipe on our site is written and tested in a home-style kitchen, but your results may differ from ours. Ovens run hotter or cooler than their dial says, stovetops vary in power, pans conduct heat differently, and ingredients change with brand, season, size and freshness. Cheese in particular varies a great deal in moisture, salt and melting behavior from one maker to the next.
Cooking times, yields, serving sizes and prep times are guides, not guarantees. Use your senses and a thermometer, check food early, and adjust as needed. Photos show how a dish turned out for us and may include garnishes or serving pieces that are not part of the recipe.
2. Food safety
You are responsible for handling, preparing, cooking and storing food safely. Please follow current food safety guidance from the USDA and FDA, including:
- Cook to safe internal temperatures, measured with an instant-read thermometer in the thickest part of the food: poultry, including ground poultry, to 165 degrees F; ground beef, pork, veal and lamb to 160 degrees F; whole cuts of beef, pork, veal and lamb to 145 degrees F with a 3-minute rest; fish and shellfish to 145 degrees F; egg dishes and casseroles to 160 degrees F; and leftovers reheated to 165 degrees F.
- Raw and lightly cooked eggs. Some recipes, such as certain sauces, dressings, custards or desserts, may use raw or undercooked eggs. Consuming raw or undercooked eggs increases the risk of foodborne illness. Use pasteurized eggs where possible.
- Raw milk and soft cheeses. Unpasteurized (raw) milk and cheeses made from it can carry harmful bacteria such as Listeria. Choose pasteurized dairy products, especially if you are pregnant, elderly, very young or have a weakened immune system.
- Keep hot food hot and cold food cold. Refrigerate perishable food within 2 hours (within 1 hour if the room is above 90 degrees F). Keep your refrigerator at or below 40 degrees F.
- Avoid cross-contamination. Wash hands, cutting boards, knives and surfaces after contact with raw meat, poultry, seafood and eggs.
- Home canning, fermenting, curing and cheesemaking carry specific risks. If a recipe involves these techniques, follow tested, science-based methods exactly.
People who are pregnant, older adults, young children and anyone with a weakened immune system are at higher risk of foodborne illness and should take extra care.
3. Allergens
Many of our recipes contain common food allergens. As our name suggests, milk and dairy, including cheese, butter and cream, appear in a large share of our recipes. Other allergens you will often find include tree nuts and peanuts, wheat and other gluten-containing grains, eggs, soy, sesame, fish and shellfish.
- Always read the full ingredient list before cooking, and check the labels of every packaged ingredient you buy. Manufacturers change formulas, and products may be made in facilities that also process allergens.
- Suggested substitutions (for example, dairy-free or gluten-free swaps) are offered for convenience and have not always been tested. They may change the texture, flavor or safety of a dish and may not be suitable for people with severe allergies or celiac disease.
- Recipe labels such as "vegetarian" or "gluten-free" are based on the ingredients as we list them and are not a certification.
If you or someone you are cooking for has a food allergy or intolerance, you are responsible for making sure the food you prepare is safe for them.
4. Nutrition estimates
Any nutrition information shown with our recipes, such as calories, fat, protein, carbohydrates or sodium, is an estimate calculated from typical values for the listed ingredients. It is provided as a courtesy only. Actual values depend on the specific brands and amounts you use, how you prepare the dish, portion size and whether you include optional ingredients or garnishes. We do not guarantee the accuracy of nutrition figures. If you are following a diet for medical reasons, calculate nutrition yourself using the exact products you use, and consult a qualified professional.
5. Not medical or dietary advice
Content on Recipe Cheese is for general informational and educational purposes only. It is not medical, nutritional, or dietary advice and is not a substitute for advice from a physician, registered dietitian or other qualified health professional. Do not use our content to diagnose or treat any health condition. Talk to your doctor before making significant changes to your diet, especially if you are pregnant, nursing, managing a chronic condition such as diabetes or heart disease, or taking medication that interacts with food. Never ignore professional medical advice because of something you read on our site.
6. Product use and safety
Our shop sells Recipe Cheese house-brand kitchen accessories such as cookware, knives and cheese tools. To use them safely:
- Read and follow the use, care and safety instructions provided on the product page and with the product before first use.
- Knives, graters, slicers, mandolines and cheese wires are sharp. Use a cutting guard or hand protection where provided, cut away from your body, keep them out of the reach of children, and store them safely.
- Cookware and bakeware get very hot. Use oven mitts, check oven-safe temperature limits, never leave a hot pan unattended on a burner, and do not heat an empty nonstick pan on high heat.
- Follow the care instructions for each item, including whether it is dishwasher safe, to avoid damage.
- Do not modify products or use them for purposes other than those they were designed for.
We are not responsible for injury or damage caused by misuse, failure to follow instructions, normal wear, or using a product for an unintended purpose. Product warranties, returns and refunds are described in our Refunds & Money-Back Guarantee.

- Affiliate links. We do not currently use affiliate links. If that changes, we will clearly disclose any affiliate link next to it and update this page.
- Sponsored content. If we ever publish content created in partnership with a brand, it will be clearly labeled as sponsored.
