Privacy Policy
Effective October 1, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how CHEESE LLC ("we", "us" or "our"), the operator of Recipe Cheese, collects, uses, shares and protects personal information when you visit our website, create an account, buy a membership, order from our shop or contact us. We have tried to keep it plain and short enough to actually read. If anything is unclear, please get in touch.
1. Information we collect
We collect only the information we need to run the site, deliver what you ask for and keep things secure.
Information you give us
- Account information. When you create an account we store your name, your email address and a hashed version of your password. We never store your password in readable form.
- Membership information. When you start a free trial or buy a membership we store your plan (monthly or annual), its status, start date, renewal date and billing history.
- Order information. When you place a shop order we store your name, email address, shipping address, the items you ordered, the amounts charged, and the brand and last four digits of the card you used. Full card numbers and security codes (CVC) are never stored on our systems.
- Messages you send us. When you use our contact form we store your name, email address, your message and the IP address the message was sent from, which helps us prevent spam and abuse.
Information collected automatically
- Technical data. Like most websites, our servers record basic request data such as IP address, browser type, pages requested, referring page and the date and time of the request. We use it to operate and secure the site.
- Cookies and local storage. We use an essential session cookie, browser local storage for your cart and cookie choice, and, only if you agree, advertising cookies from Microsoft Advertising (Bing Ads). See section 6 and our Cookie Policy.
We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information such as health data, precise geolocation, or government identification numbers.
2. How we use information
- To create and manage your account and let you sign in.
- To provide membership access, run free trials, process renewals and cancellations, and send receipts and important account notices about your plan.
- To process, ship and support shop orders, including returns and refunds under our Refunds & Money-Back Guarantee.
- To answer questions and requests you send us.
- To keep the site secure, prevent fraud and abuse, and fix problems.
- To understand, in aggregate, which pages and recipes are useful so we can improve the site.
- With your consent, to measure the performance of our ads and show relevant ads, as described in section 5.
- To comply with the law, enforce our Terms of Service and protect our rights and the rights of others.
We do not sell your name, email address, shipping address or order history to data brokers, and we do not send marketing email unless you have asked to receive it. You can unsubscribe from any marketing email at any time using the link in the message.
3. Legal bases and consent
We process personal information when it is necessary to provide a service you requested (such as your account, membership or order), when we have a legitimate interest in running and securing our business that is not outweighed by your privacy interests, when we need to comply with a legal obligation, and when you have given consent.
Advertising cookies and similar technologies are used only after you choose "Accept all" in our cookie banner. If you choose "Essential only", or make no choice, those advertising technologies are not loaded. You can change your mind at any time as described in our Cookie Policy.
4. How we share information
We share personal information only in the following situations:
- Service providers. Companies that help us operate the business, such as web hosting, payment processing, shipping carriers, email delivery and customer support tools. They may use your information only to perform services for us and must protect it.
- Advertising partners, with consent. If you accept advertising cookies, Microsoft Advertising (Bing Ads) may receive information about your visit as described in the next section.
- Legal and safety reasons. When we believe in good faith that disclosure is required by law, subpoena or court order, or is necessary to protect the rights, property or safety of CHEESE LLC, our customers or others, including to prevent fraud.
- Business transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.
- With your direction. When you ask us to share information with someone else.
5. Advertising
We advertise through Microsoft Advertising (Bing Ads). If, and only if, you choose "Accept all" in our cookie banner, our site may load the Microsoft Advertising (Bing Ads) Universal Event Tracking (UET) tag. This tag and its cookies, such as MUID, _uetsid and _uetvid, can record that a browser visited our site, which pages it viewed and whether it completed an action such as starting a trial or placing an order. We use this for conversion tracking (to learn whether our ads work) and remarketing (showing our ads to people who have visited our site when they browse elsewhere).
Microsoft Advertising (Bing Ads) collects and uses this information under its own privacy statement, available at https://privacy.microsoft.com/privacystatement. Under some state laws, this kind of advertising may be considered "sharing" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising or "targeted advertising".
Your advertising choices
- Choose "Essential only" in our cookie banner, or change your choice as described in our Cookie Policy.
- Manage personalized ads from Microsoft at Microsoft ad settings.
- Opt out of interest-based ads from participating companies through the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out.
- Use the Digital Advertising Alliance tools at DAA opt-out and YourAdChoices.
- Turn on a Global Privacy Control signal in your browser, which we honor as described in section 9.
Opting out does not mean you will see no ads. It means the ads you see will be less tailored to your interests. Opt-outs based on cookies apply only to the browser and device you use, and may need to be repeated if you clear your cookies.
6. Cookies and local storage
In short: we use one essential session cookie (rc_sess) to keep you signed in and protect forms, browser local storage to remember your cart and your cookie choice, and advertising cookies from Microsoft Advertising (Bing Ads) only with your consent. Our Cookie Policy lists each one and explains how to manage them.
7. How long we keep information
- Accounts are kept while your account is open. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete or de-identify its data within a reasonable time, except where we must keep records as described below.
- Order and billing records are kept for as long as needed for tax, accounting and legal purposes, generally up to seven years.
- Contact form messages are kept for up to two years after we resolve your request, unless they relate to an ongoing matter.
- Server logs are kept for a limited period, usually no more than 90 days, unless needed to investigate a security issue.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect personal information. These include encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, limited staff access, and never storing full card numbers or CVC codes. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please use a strong, unique password and let us know right away at info@recipecheese.com if you believe your account has been compromised.
9. Your US state privacy rights
Depending on where you live, including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon and other states with consumer privacy laws, you may have some or all of the following rights. We extend these choices to all of our US customers regardless of state.
- Right to know and access. Ask what personal information we have collected about you, the categories of sources, the purposes, and the categories of third parties we share it with, and get a copy.
- Right to delete. Ask us to delete personal information we collected from you, subject to legal exceptions (for example, records we must keep for taxes).
- Right to correct. Ask us to fix inaccurate personal information. You can also update your name and email from your account page.
- Right to opt out of targeted advertising and the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell personal information for money. Our use of Microsoft Advertising (Bing Ads) advertising cookies may count as "sharing" or "targeted advertising" under some laws. You can opt out by choosing "Essential only" in the cookie banner or by using a Global Privacy Control signal.
- Right to limit use of sensitive personal information. We do not use sensitive personal information for purposes that would trigger this right.
- Right to non-discrimination. We will not deny you service, charge you a different price or give you a lower quality of service because you exercised a privacy right.
- Right to appeal. If we decline your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision. If you are not satisfied with the outcome, you may contact your state attorney general.
Global Privacy Control
We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. If your browser sends a GPC signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information and of targeted advertising for that browser, and advertising cookies will not be loaded even if the "Accept all" option was chosen earlier.
How to make a request
Email info@recipecheese.com or call +1 (940) 620-2275. To protect your information, we will verify your request, usually by confirming control of the email address on your account. You may use an authorized agent, but we may ask for proof of the agent's authority and confirm your identity directly. We respond within 45 days, or tell you if we need more time as permitted by law.
California notice
In the past 12 months we have collected identifiers (such as name, email and IP address), commercial information (such as orders and membership history), internet activity information (such as pages visited), and limited payment information (card brand and last four digits). We collect this from you, your browser and our service providers, for the purposes described in section 2. We disclose it to the categories of recipients described in section 4. California residents may also request information about disclosures for direct marketing purposes under California Civil Code Section 1798.83; we do not make such disclosures.
10. Children
Recipe Cheese is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and children under 13 may not create an account or place orders. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it. Users between 13 and 18 should use the site only with the involvement of a parent or guardian.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the effective date at the top of this page. If a change is material, we will give notice on the site or by email before it takes effect. Your continued use of the site after the effective date means the updated policy applies.
